Anthropic opens applications for two new fellowship programs, closing October 28

一句重點:Fellows will pose hard problems from their own fields for Claude and track down where the model falls short (STEM Fellow job page).

發生什麼事

One program, STEM Fellows, covers science and engineering. The other, Conceptual Reasoning Fellows, spans law, policy, economics, cognitive science and philosophy (@AnthropicAI). The STEM job page puts the dates at January 12 to May 8, 2027, with pay of $100,000 to $167,000. Each fellow sits in a group with people from neighboring fields, and the whole exercise is aimed at showing where Claude comes up short. That starts with settling on which unsolved questions in a field are toughest; the datasets and simulations built afterward are what the model gets tested and trained on. To qualify you need a doctorate in a STEM field, several years of experience and daily use of Claude and Claude Code; acceptances go out by November 20 (STEM Fellow job page).

Questions written by the previous cohort are already in use for Claude's training and for one internal science evaluation. Its members, over 20 of them in STEM, were at Anthropic between June and September 2026.

Correction (2026-10-22)

The earlier version stated that people outside the US couldn't take part. What the job page actually requires is US work authorization, and this has been fixed.
