NVIDIA cuDSS reaches general availability as European industrial partners turn to GPUs for engineering simulation

一句重點:Engineering simulations often get stuck solving large sparse linear systems. cuDSS is a library that moves that step onto the GPU, and developers can call it from Python, C, C++ or Fortran (cuDSS blog).

The speedups partners report are their own numbers. Dassault Systèmes says solvers such as Abaqus now run 8 to 10 times faster. For Ginestra, Applied Materials' semiconductor simulation platform, sparse solving is as much as 10 times quicker when measured against a CPU-only setup (cuDSS blog).

In a separate announcement about European industry, Siemens gave a number from the factory floor. At its electronics plant in Erlangen, an agent produced pictures of faulty circuit boards with Cosmos Data Factory, and that cut the calibration time of the inspection process by 40%. FOX, a blueprint that factory agents of this kind can follow, is now available on GitHub for early testing (European industry blog).
