NVIDIA unveils DSX POD containerized AI factories that can be up and running in as few as 14 days instead of six months

一句重點:The work that normally happens on site is done at the factory instead, and that is where the time savings come from. Before a container leaves, partners have already fitted the liquid cooling, rack power and cabling and run tests on the complete system. Worldwide deliveries are expected to start in early 2027, from vendors such as Bull, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Schneider Electric and Vertiv (DSX POD press release).

According to NVIDIA, the approach cuts down on construction at the site and on the need for specialist workers, and late parts become less of a risk. The buyer's share of the job is to have the site's networking, power and cooling in place beforehand (DSX POD press release).

Water use was the topic of a second announcement that day. Dry coolers take the place of evaporation: they draw heat from coolant that never leaves a sealed loop and vent it to the outside air. NVIDIA's estimate puts the daily saving at 54 million liters of water for a 2 GW site, measured against conventional cooling towers. In the hottest season, some sites may still need extra mechanical cooling; that comes down to the local climate (DSX Europe press release).
